Wing of a Seraph

"I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea, But we loved with a love that was more than love— I and my Annabel Lee— With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven Coveted her and me. The angels, not half so happy in Heaven, Went envying her and me— Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea) That the wind came out of the cloud by night, Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee." -Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe Inspired by this poem of Edgar Allan Poe which my sister and I loved during our younger days, I created a piece showing how I imagined the wing of a Seraph would look like. No one really knows how Seraphims or a Seraph looks, how big they are and how big their wings are though they are known to have 6 wings. I decided to just make one for obvious reasons. I used Rubies, Emeralds and Blue Sapphires to bring life to the piece. Ruby is associated with vitality, prosperity, courage, and high energy. Blue Sapphire is associated with honesty. loyalty and devotion. Emeral is associated with love, domestic bliss, sensitivity, loyalty, harmony, romance, faith, and truthfulness. Have a Terrific Thursday, THJ friends! Photography: Anna Mikaela
